ABOUT US

OUR VISION

To support our veterans through Christ’s love and to see lives changed throughout our community and the world.

WHAT WE DO

We create a support network connecting veterans with other veterans and use the various skills in the network to plan and carry out missions in our community.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that there is nothing facing veterans - PTSD or other issues - that cannot be helped through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

WHAT WE LIVE BY

We believe that the whole Bible is a guide for life, but these are some scriptures that sum up the heart of EveryVet's:

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13

Everyone who has enlisted in military service has signed a contract that means they may have to pay the ultimate sacrifice for their mates and their country. Many have paid that price, however, all who have served have, in some way, given a part of their life, including physical and mental scars for that higher cause. The example given by Jesus Christ was one of sacrificing himself for the sake of the entire world. EveryVet's seeks to emulate this sacrifice of Christ by laying down our lives for the sake of reaching our fellow serving and ex-serving brothers and sisters in their darkest times of need.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28

The invitation given by Christ was one that promised peace with God, which in turn brings inner peace. It doesn't mean that every problem in life disappears immediately, but it does mean that we never walk alone through our trials. Even when our whole world is falling apart around us we can maintain a peace in our hearts that surpasses all understanding.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. - Romans 8:37

When we accept God's invitation to know and be in a personal relationship with Him, we can live overcoming lives. We can face every challenge, whether it is physical, mental, or spiritual, and our faith draws on a strength and a power from God.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. - Hebrews 10:24

As a community of veterans we are not looking for sympathy, instead we want to use our skill-sets and drive that have been ingrained with in us in our time in service, to help those who truly need it. We are driven by the love that is poured out in our hearts by God.

You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said,

‘It is more blessed to give than to receive. - Acts 20:34-35

Once we have the selfless kind of love that Jesus taught, where we put God first and serve others around us, even before our own needs, we are able to realise that we ourselves are also helped and blessed in return.

Underpinning all of this is the verse that has been the key for Everyman's from the beginning:

Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily. - Colossians 1:28-29

At the core of what we stand for is a belief that the gospel (or good news), as revealed in the Bible, is the power of God unto salvation. Unashamed of this, we preach that a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, is the only way to have assurance of eternal life when we all will inevitably stand before God at the end of our mortal life. Salvation comes as a free gift from God through obeying the commandments given by Jesus himself - 'Repent and believe'. To repent means to turn away from a life of sin, and self-seeking. To believe means to trust in Jesus' finished work on the cross alone and not any good works that we can do. When we do this we receive the promise of God's Spirit in us, what Jesus referred to as being 'born again'. This begins a life of being a disciple of Jesus, where we seek to become more like him in all aspects and share this good news with the people of the world around us.
